Activity -  Sand pit / Sand box - Bucket, spade, shape makers.

Physical Development - will help with movements such as digging and scooping.  Good for hand eye co-ordination.

Emotional Development - Exploring and enjoying this new texture.  Pride in making different shapes.  Confidence. Turn taking.

Cognitive Development - Giving different sized buckets so they can make bigger / smaller castles.  Adding more sand or taking sand away to create new shapes.  Add some water and see sand go from dry to wet and the texture changes.
